‘Dune’ Starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya Delayed Until Late 2021
The release date of the highly-anticipated Dune adaption starring Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya has been pushed to late 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced their decision to transfer the film from its original December 18 debut to a new release of October 1, 2021.

The adaption of Frank Herbert’s best-selling novel consists of a star-studded cast including Josh Brolin, Oscar Isaac, Rebecca Ferguson, Jason Momoa, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, and Javier Bardem.
The film is being co-written and directed by Denis Villeneuve, the mind behind Arrival. The screenplay is also being co-written by Jon Spaihts (Passengers) and Eric Roth (Forrest Gump).
Warner Bros’ decision to delay the film came after the announcement that the long-awaited James Bond movie No Time to Die was pushed to 2021. After realizing the lack of incoming box-office giants for the remainder of 2020, Regal Cinemas revealed they were suspending operations on their theaters for the second time this year.
“This is not a decision we made lightly, and we did everything in our power to support a safe and sustainable reopening in the U.S. — from putting in place robust health and safety measures at our theaters to joining our industry in making a collective commitment to the CinemaSafe protocols to reaching out to state and local officials to educate them on these initiatives,” said CEO of Cineworld, Mooky Greidinger.
