YouTube Music is replacing Google Play Music by the end of this year.
Google announced in August that Google Play Music is shutting down in December, causing its users to lose access to streaming music in the app. Users will have access to Google Play Music until it shuts down; however, you can’t preorder, download, or upload music from the app. Don’t worry, YouTube music has made a tool that will help you transfer your Google Play Music profile (with playlist and library) into their revamped app.
Many people aren’t happy with the transfer, unaware of the changes YouTube Music is making to please their new consumers. The app has fixed the Bluetooth connectivity issue and made their app navigation simpler. Some of the recent changes include making the lyrics tab available across platforms and recommending daily playlists similar to what Spotify does.

Regardless, as of last year, YouTube Music has over 20 million subscribers and hasn’t stopped growing since. The company credits its success to its tracking system and recommendations based on your profile.
