Blinks were continually being teased by the K-pop group leading up to the premiere of the Lovesick Girls music video. On September 28, Blackpink shared a teaser poster via Instagram announcing “Lovesick Girls,” the title of their single. Following the poster, there was a short 25-second clip showing Blackpink parading down the street at nighttime with the song playing behind them.

However, the wait is now over and everyone is going crazy over the music video.

The “Lovesick Girl” music video follows Blackpink’s members – Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa – dealing with heartbreak in their own way as they declare in the chorus, “We are the lovesick girls.” We see different members running through an empty street at nighttime, crying alone in a car and bathtub, or breaking cars and guitars too mend their broken heart. Despite their pain, the girls come together dancing and riding off to the countryside in the convertible searching for adventure as they sing “We were born to be alone.”

The empowering music video reached over 100 million views within the first 24 hours of its release. “Lovesick Girls” is the third single and music video released from The Album, following “Ice Cream” featuring Selena Gomez and “How You Like That.” Their debut LP also has a long-awaited collaborating with Cardi B in the song, “Bet You Wanna.” On October 14, Netflix will premiere its first K-pop documentary, Blackpink: Light Up the Sky which follows Blackpink in their rise to fame and features interviews with the band members alongside footage from their early trainee days on through their 2019 appearance at Coachella.

Not only did Blackpink release an amazing music video, but they also released the making of “Lovesick Girls.” The behind-the-scenes shot shows the hit K-pop group explaining the meaning of the song and the inspiration behind the music video while also gossiping about the craziest things they did on set. They ended the video by expressing that they hope all the Blinks fall in love with the music video and album.

Well, they did. Blinks went crazy over Twitter expressing their love for the bittersweet title track that features David Guetta as a co-producer, with songwriting credits from group members Jennie and Jisoo.

Blinks are encouraging all fans to continue streaming their songs from The Album, so they can reach #1 everywhere.
