Henson’s new show, Peace of Mind with Taraji, will focus on mental health struggles, specifically in the African American community. The show will feature co-host Trace Jade Jenkins, the Executive Director of Henson’s  Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation.

Henson’s foundation works to break the stigma surrounding mental health in the African American community. The foundation was named after her late father, who endured his own struggles with mental health after serving in the Vietnam War. The foundation provides scholarships to Black people pursuing careers in the mental health field and offers mental health services to students in underserved communities.

This year, Henson also began offering free virtual therapy services for African Americans struggling during the pandemic. The first five sessions were open to anyone, and she accepted donations to offset the costs for any additional sessions.

Peace of Mind with Taraji will feature guests ranging from celebrities and mental health experts to everyday people. Fans are proud of the actress for using her platform to bring awareness to mental health issues to help those struggling and need guidance.

We must continue to focus on our mental health and helping those who have been affected by COVID-19. There’s no word yet on when Peace of Mind with Taraji will air, but be sure to tune into Facebook Watch when it does.
