Tory Lanez is expecting a possible maximum sentence of over 22 years for his assault on Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan is not identified by name in the recent statement. However, all of the details align with the incident in early July. She had claimed that Lanez had fired a gun at her and she quickly exited the car. As result, she received serious injuries to her feet that needed surgery.

The announcement released said that “the rap artist known as Tory Lanez has been charged with assaulting a female friend in the Hollywood Hills earlier this year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced today.”

Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta of the Family Violence Division read a statement on the felony charge of Lanez.

“On July 12, the defendant and the 24-year-old victim got into an argument while riding in an SUV in the Hollywood Hills. The victim exited the vehicle and Peterson is accused of shooting several times at her feet and wounding her.”

The case still remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, Hollywood Division.

On July 12, Lanez was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. Megan and two other people were in the vehicle at the time of the arrest. However, the shooting took place beforehand. Details have been slow to unfold, even though the news about the incident had been released hours after it occurred. Most of the information that has been provided has been accusations from Megan’s social media posts.

Megan uploaded a fiery post on Instagram including profanity on how Lanez had shot her. Multiple people are claiming her to have faked the shooting or abused Lanez instead.

Lanez denied all accusations in his album that was released last month. Many songs include the incident and its fallout, as well as jabs made towards Megan.

Lanez and Megan have continued to go back and forth through his music, and her social media posts.

This incident has luckily not affected Megan’s music career, as she just performed on Saturday Night Live last week. Her hit songs, “WAP” and “Don’t Stop” have gotten an enormous amount of attention.

Many fans have come forward showing their support for Meg and stating that there should be more support for Black women.
