The ‘Hamilton’ Mixtape Including Kelly Clarkson, Chance The Rapper, and Sia Has Resurfaced, and Here’s Why
Actor, playwright, and activist Lin-Manuel Miranda created a mixtape for his 2016 hit musical Hamilton four years ago, and here’s why people are tweeting about it today.
The mixtape is a pop and hip-hop-inspired spin on some of the songs from the musical about the American founding father Alexander Hamilton. Famous singers, including Miranda himself, sang covers of some of the most popular songs from the musical. The mixtape also featured entirely new songs, including “No John Trumbull” (sung by the Roots), “Wrote My Way Out” (sung by Miranda), and “Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)” (sung by Riz Ahmed, Residente, Snow Tha Product, and K’naan).
Notably, singers Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, and rapper Chance the Rapper took part in the epic project. The mixtape became a popular conversation topic on Twitter yesterday because a fan tweeted about how much they love the album, and the Hamilton account responded.

In the mixtape, Clarkson sang “It’s Quiet Uptown,” Alicia Keys covered “That Would Be Enough,” and Chance the Rapper and the Roots covered “Dear Theodosia (Reprise).” Other artists who took part in the highly-acclaimed project include Andra Day, John Legend, Wiz Khalifa, Usher, Ashanti, Sia, and Jimmy Fallon.
The cast of Hamilton and Miranda have been active on social media lately as they encourage their fans to vote in the upcoming election. They just recently hosted an event in which the cast gave a special performance and did a Q&A to support the Biden campaign fundraiser.
