Sam Smith Gets Booted off Dating Apps for Being Viewed as a Catfish
Sam Smith opens up about the struggles of dating as a celebrity.
Sam Smith was recently removed from the dating app, Hinge. Smith was thought to be someone posing as themself. The singer joined Andy Cohen last Thursday on Watch What Happens Live and discussed their dating life or lack thereof. Smith took his advice to use a dating app, but it ended up not going the way they had expected.
In a new interview, @samsmith talked about getting booted from a dating app during the pandemic lockdown, revealed their favorite collaboration, and explained why nobody should ever cover #CardiB‘s “WAP.” https://t.co/oVzMmRP8gs pic.twitter.com/8X0PWvGgjV

“I’m still single. I’m on the frontline with all the single people still and it’s been difficult… I’ve gone on all the apps and stuff,” Smith explained. It seems like Smith is truly struggling from their stardom to participate in dating apps just like normal people. They had joined Hinge U.K. and their account was terminated in the idea that Smith was impersonating themself. “I took your advice a and I joined this dating site called Hinge in the U.K. and they chucked me off of it after one night cause they thought I was a catfish pretending to be me.”
Hilarious. Im pretty sure if i came across a celebrity on a dating app id automatically assume it was a catfish & swipe left 😅

Cohen was able to relate to this issue, as the same situation happened to him. “That same thing has happened to me on dating apps but that’s why I wanted you to join Tinder because I have someone who can get you on there and verify you,” he said.
Smith needs to become verified with the necessary blue checkmark or use the celebrity-friendly dating app, Raya. Be careful dating app users for potential catfishers out there, but for Smith, we wish you the best of luck in finding love.
