Emma Roberts Discusses Her New Feel-Good Netflix Film ‘Holidate’
Emma Roberts divulges why she wanted to be a part of the new Netflix romantic comedy, Holidate.
Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey star in the upcoming holiday romantic comedy, Holidate. The supporting cast is full of well-known actors, including Kristen Chenoweth, Andrew Bachelor, and Jessica Capshaw.
The film is about two strangers who both need dates to bring home for the holidays. They both share the hate for this time of the year and decide to escort each other home. As they spend time together throughout the year of platonic holiday dates, they find themselves becoming more than just friends.

Roberts and the cast talked to The Holiday Reporter about what made them become interested in working on this film. They also touched on their reasoning for why Netflix users will enjoy this movie.
Roberts instantly fell in love with Holidate‘s script. She touched on the nostalgia she felt from reading the script for the first time. “It’s funny, it’s feel-good, it’s a bit unexpected. For me when I read this script, I was really blown away by how nostalgic and yet original a lot of the stuff was in it.”

Chenoweth, who plays Robert’s crazy aunt, believes the film is exactly what people need during these unprecedented times. “Now’s a time when I think we could use some laughter, to be honest with you and just forget for a second,” said Chenoweth. “So, I think people are ready for it.”

Internet personality, Bachelor, plays Bracey’s playboy best friend in the movie. He added his reasoning as to why he was drawn to this movie.
“I loved the script,” said Bachelor. “I loved the concept of the whole ‘holidate’ thing, and I think it could be the next movement.”
To add to the lineup, Grey’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw, loved to be a part of this movie. The opportunity to play a different character from the medical TV drama was what made her so excited to play this role.
“I was so excited to be a part of this movie,” revealed Capshaw. “I had spent a really long time playing the same character [on Grey’s Anatomy], so it was so much fun to come and be someone else … And then it was really fun because then no one knew that I was even kind of funny and then every time I was even kind of funny they’d be like, ‘You’re actually funny!’ So, I got to feel good about myself on top of going to work.”
