Lark Voorhies Is Back as Lisa Turtle for ‘Saved by the Bell’ Reboot

Peacock

Lark Voorhies will reprise her role as fashionista, Lisa Turtle when the Saved by the Bell reboot drops on Peacock.

According to NBC’s streaming service Peacock, “when the show picks up with Lisa, she is thriving with a successful career in fashion.” It is not yet known how many episodes she will appear in or when she will pop up.

Saved by the Bell alumna originally portrayed the former Bayside High rich kid from the beginning of the show in 1988 when it was known as Good Morning, Miss Bliss, through all four seasons of Saved by the Bell. Voorhies reprised her role in all the three specials: Hawaiian Style; The College Years; and Wedding in Las Vegas. She reappeared again in Saved by the Bell: The New Class in 1993 for one episode where she reunited with her former classmates.

The beloved series will center around a new group of Bayside High students “overprivileged” and working-class families, among the latter of which were transferred to the school as part of a plan by California Governor, Zack Morris. The administration experiences controversy for closing too many low-income high schools to send lower-income students to the highest-performing schools in the state.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Mario Lopez, and Elizabeth Berkley will reprise their respective roles in the new shows. Voorhies was initially not invited to reappear in Saved by the Bell revival after it was announced to the public. Gosselaar and Thiessen had also not been invited back at that time.

“I have to admit I did feel a bit slighted and hurt when I was not invited to be part of the Saved by the Bell reunion, as well as other cast members’ events,” the actress, who was previously diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder, said on the Dr. Oz Show in Feb. “Yet of course, I also realized that having this puzzling disorder may have played a major part in that factual decision.”

The reboot of Saved by the Bell was first announced last December, but production came to a halt in March due to the global pandemic. Luckily, there were able to resume filming this summer and wrap everything up for the show’s November premiere.

Fans of the hit tv-show are excited for Lark Voorhies reprising her role, claiming that there is no Saved by the Bell without Lisa Turtle.

However, the wait is almost over as Saved by the Bell revival will air on November 25 on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock. Set your alarms and don’t forget to watch!
