The marriage was announced by the philanthropy organization of their choice, Meals on Wheels America, over Instagram on October 29.

Scarlett Johansson met Colin Jost when she hosted Saturday Night Live in 2006, but they didn’t become friends until 2010. Their relationship began after Johansson divorced Ryan Reynolds and Jost proposed in May of 2019. They first appeared in public together at a philanthropy gala in 2017.

Jost is well-known for his comedy skits and journalism parody “The Weekend Update” with Michael Che on SNL, which is why that show holds so many memories for the couple. While Johansson has hosted the show multiple times, her most recent appearance included a closing monologue calling Jost ‘the love of her life.” Check out this video around 4:27 to catch Johansson saying this.

Johansson is most known for her role as Black Widow (Natasha Romanov) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She invited Jost to walk the Marvel red carpet at premieres like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. They have since attended multiple public engagements together, looking quite happy.

The pandemic not only affected Johansson’s wedding, but it is currently keeping her Black Widow film on hold until Marvel feels confident it’s the right time to release the film. She has stated, “We’re all eager to get the movie out, but more important than anything, everybody wants the experience to feel safe, to have people be able to really feel confident about sitting in an enclosed theater.” You can still watch Jost on Saturday Night Live as the cast and crew are doing their best to produce the show under strict production guidelines.

While the couple has not released photos of the ceremony, we know that they were surrounded by close friends and family and took all the necessary precautions for the event to follow proper health guidelines. Congratulations to Scarlette and Colin.
