New episodes are released weekly on the platform, with the last episode scheduled for December 18. Previously, creator Jon Favreau told Entertainment Weekly about the inclusion of other storylines outside of Mando.
“As we introduce other characters, there are opportunities to follow different storylines,” Favreau said. “The world was really captivated by Game of Thrones and how that evolved as the characters followed different storylines — that’s very appealing to me as an audience member.”

The actors from season one are reprising their roles for the next eight episodes, including Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon. Timothy Olyphant, John Leguizamo, and Amy Sedaris are just a few of the new additions to the series.
For Chapter 9, Favreau returned to the director’s chair to kick off the newest season. According to a synopsis provided by IMDb, the episode follows “The Mandalorian [as he is] drawn to the Outer Rim in search of others of his kind.”
