‘The Crown’ Season 4 Trailer Introduces Emma Corrin and Gillian Anderson
The latest trailer for season 4 of The Crown introduces Emma Corrin as Princess Diana and Gillian Anderson as Former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Ahead of its November 15 premiere, Netflix released a full-length trailer for season 4 of the historical drama centering around the British royal family. This season promises to be the most explosive yet as the 1980s introduced the personalities of Princess Diana and Thatcher to the British monarchy.
This is the first trailer that has been released promoting the new season. It was published on October 29 via Netflix’s Youtube channel. The latest season covers the time period between 1977 and 1990 which will bring in Lady Diana Spencer, Prince William, and Prince Harry and is set during Margaret Thatcher’s premiership.
The Crown‘s season 4 trailer depicts the tension between Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth II, while also showing Prince Charles’ seemingly strained romance with Lady Diana Spencer, the future iconic Princess Diana. The preview offers a glimpse of Diana’s famous dress, warnings about the marriage from Princess Margaret, and numerous ominous Thatcher-era glaring across fancy parlors.
Season 4 will display notable events such as the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer, their 1983 tour of Australia and New Zealand, the Falklands War, Michael Fagan’s break-in at Buckingham Palace, Lord Mountbatten’s funeral, the Princess of Wale’s appearance at the Barnardo’s Champion Children Awards and her 1989 flight on Concorde.
The Crown has two seasons left; the fifth and sixth season has already been renewed by streaming-service platform Netflix. However, the production team will take a break and pick up filming Season 5 in June 2021. That means those episodes won’t hit Netflix until 2022.
