The Hamilton star refers to his musical number “Wait For It” to remind America to have patience this election season.

Leslie Odom Jr., who is known for his playing Aaron Burr in the Broadway musical Hamilton, has reprised his popular hit from the show to spread a message during the 2020 Presidential Election.

In this powerful video produced by RepresentUs, Odom states, “In this historic election, millions of you mailed your ballots or dropped them off — and all of you deserve to be counted. It may take time, but your vote is worth waiting for. And I’m willing to wait for it.”

The video features the diverse voters of America, with citizens, families, and communities all encouraging people to “Wait For It.” This year’s election has been projected to take longer to find out the final results due to the increased number of absentee ballots used because of COVID-19. Odom uses his platform to express the importance of making your voice heard by voting, and that it is worth it to “Wait For It.”

Several of the cast members from Hamilton have given a new virtual performance as well, this one dedicated to the children of America. Revisiting “Dear Theodosia,” the cast shares in a tweet, “Today, we vote for the next generation as well as our own. You will come of age with our young nation. We WILL make it right for you. #VOTE for our future”. The heartfelt performance serves as a source of hope for the younger generations of America.

We appreciate these artist using their platforms and musical talent to spread positive messages during what is a stressful time for many.
