Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Free Guy’ and Gal Gadot’s ‘Death On The Nile’ Pulled From Disney’s December Release Schedule
Disney just pulled upcoming theatrical releases Free Guy and Death On The Nile from its December release schedule, and now the winter box office is looking to be an empty one.
Families normally flock to the box office in the winter offseason, but the ongoing pandemic is making that holiday tradition come to a halt.
Disney has officially removed Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy and Gal Gadot’s Death On The Nile from their expected December release dates.

Reynolds’ Free Guy was eyeing a December 11 release while Gadot’s Death On The Nile was expected to sail into theaters on December 18. Now, the release date for both films is up in the air.
The highly-anticipated Free Guy follows a bank teller who discovers that he’s actually an NPC inside a video game. Reynolds is joined by Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, and Taika Waititi in the film.
Death On The Nile is the sequel to the popular The Murder on the Orient Express and will feature detective Hercule Poirot’s investigation of the murder of a young heiress on the Nile. Besides Gal Gadot, the cast includes Armie Hammer, Kenneth Branagh, and Rose Leslie.

Before the date shift, the films were going to be the first big box-office releases since Christopher Nolen’s Tenet.
Currently, the only big-budget film set to appear in theaters this year is Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984, which has already been shifted a variety of times this year due to the pandemic.
With Free Guy and Death on the Nile being delayed by Disney, I don’t see cinemas reopening until Feb half term at the earliest. Sad time’s for the silver screen.

A new release date for Free Guy and Death On The Nile has not yet been revealed. We hope to see both films in a theater atmosphere once the environment is deemed safe, but for now, we will indulge in The Proposal and Wonder Woman rewatches.
