After Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election on November 7, 2020, people all over the country and even across the globe celebrate the historic win.

Biden and his Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris, made history with their win as Harris will be the first woman of color to serve in the White House.

Celebrations commenced with their supporters singing and dancing in the streets of many major cities, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

Several international leaders offered their congratulations to Biden and Harris, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron, the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and more. To honor the president-elect, a mural was painted in Ireland of Biden.

Harris’s ancestral village in Southern India celebrated her victory by lighting firecrackers. Before her win, members of the village of Thulasendrapuram prayed for her and Biden. Harris is the first African-American and Indian woman to serve as vice president of the United States.

Biden and Harris both gave victory speeches in Delaware on Saturday, November 7, and promised to restore the soul of the nation during their four years. Both gave powerful speeches that resonated with voters around the country, inspiring the youth to take action and fight for what they believe in.

We offer our congratulations to Biden and Harris, and cannot wait to see what they accomplish in office. We have hope for a brighter future filled with happiness and equality for all.
