Hulu is bringing some early holiday cheer to fans with the debut of the first trailer for its newest Christmas film, Happiest Season starring Kristen Stewart and Daniel Levy.

Hulu teased fans with the upcoming trailer release on Sunday night, asking followers if they were ready to unwrap their first “big gift of the season.”

The long-awaited trailer, which premiered Monday afternoon, previewed a young woman prepared to propose to her girlfriend at her family’s annual holiday party before finding out that her significant other hasn’t come out to her parents.

Last month, Hulu obtained the film after the ongoing pandemic forced it off the theater schedule. Now, fans will be able to enjoy the movie from the comfort of their own homes with their families.

The LGBTQ+ holiday focused rom-com is directed and written by Clea DuVall. It stars Stewart, Levy, Alison Brie, Mackenzie Davis, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Steenburgen, and Jake McDorman.

The movie is launching on Hulu just in time for Thanksgiving, giving fans the ability to transition right into the Christmas season.

In a past interview with People magazine, Stewart shared her happiness about DuVall’s LGBTQ+ inclusion. “I think I’ve wished to see a gay Christmas rom-com my whole life,” Stewart said. “I’m so happy and proud of Clea [DuVall] for bringing this into the world.”

Happiest Season premieres exclusively on Hulu on November 25. The film will be able to rent or buy in the UK the following day. We can’t wait to add the film to our winter watch list.
