Greta Thunberg’s Hulu Documentary ‘I am Greta’ Shows Her Journey of Saving the World
Hulu documentary I am Greta follows environmental activist Greta Thunberg through intimate footage of her journey to save the world.
The film documents her inspiring, enormous movement fueled by Thunberg’s one-person school strike and the surreal moments she has faced. I am Greta captures the Swedish teenager meeting world leaders, being vilified by others, and most importantly countless people joining her in an ever-growing resistance to environmental complacency. The documentary offers an insight into the meteoric rise of Thunberg from an anonymous, uncertain teen to an international activist.
“People always tell us that young people are going to save the world, but there is simply not enough time to wait,” Greta Thunberg says in the clips as shots of her protesting, physical breakdowns, and speaking to the United Nations flash onscreen. “Nothing is happening so we must do what we can. We will not stop until we are done.”
The Hulu documentary I am Greta is set to premiere on November 13 on its streaming platform.
I am Greta was directed by Nathan Grossman, who begun documenting her journey when Thunberg began protesting in August 2018, not expecting anything from it.
As time continued, and young people around the world began following Thunberg’s footsteps, Grossman realized he had unwittingly captured the first moments of a profound environmental movement. The project evolved and Grossman continued to shadow Thunberg up to her powerful, scorching speech at the United Nations in which she demolished world leaders.
“We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you.”
Greta Thunberg’s two years of fame and protesting will be shown through her own eyes. She is an inspiration to every generation that no matter how young you are, you can still make a change within the world.
The environmental activist’s supporters are very excited about her Hulu documentary I am Greta. They don’t even know if they ever been this excited about anything else before.
