New Romantic Comedy ‘The Hating Game’ Set to Star Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell
A film adaptation of Sally Thorne’s sensational romance novel The Hating Game is being made and will star Lucy Hale and Austin Stowell.
This new romantic comedy is in the works and has already commenced shooting in New York. The film stars actress, singer, and television personality Lucy Hale, best known for her work in Pretty Little Liars, alongside Austin Stowell, known for his work in Bridge of Spies. The movie was previously set to star Robbie Amell alongside Hale, but due to scheduling conflicts, he left the project.
The movie will feature a script written by Christina Mengert and will be directed by Peter Hutchings. The producing team includes Claude Dal Farra, Brice Dal Farra, Brian Keady, Santosh Govindaraju, and Dan Reardon. Thorne’s witty, enemies to lovers book has sold in over 20 countries and is a 2018 USA Today best-seller. Mister Smith Entertainment is executive producing the upcoming film.
David Garrett, the founder and CEO of the British entertainment company Mr. Smith described the script to Variety as, “witty, charming and sexy – everything you would want in a rom-com.” Producer Farra also told Variety about the cast and crew’s mission to, “bring some lightness in these difficult times.”
We look forward to seeing this adorable new romantic comedy, hopefully, sometime soon. While we wait, we’ll be reading Thorne’s The Hating Game.
