Mandy Moore Brings Holiday Cheer Early With New Music
Mandy Moore surprised fans by releasing a two-pack holiday single to bring this year’s holiday joy sooner than expected.
Moore released “How Could This Be Christmas,” an original track, and the classic, “It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.” The singles are accompanied by lyric videos, which bring the warmth of the holidays at home.
The videos have a scrapbook and holiday-at-home aesthetic, which makes us wish it was December already.
The original song “How Could This Be Christmas” was written by Moore, husband Taylor Goldsmith, and producer Mike Viola. The tune has a sweet country feel to it as it speaks of missing someone special during the holidays. Moore expresses as she sings, “Somehow I’m putting on a record / For you, I’m wrapping up a present / For you, are at the top of my wishlist / How could this be Christmas without you?”

Moore’s new song appears to resonate with the sentiment of longing during the COVID-19 pandemic. In a recent statement, Moore explained, “[If] we’ve learned anything in this season of change, it’s the recognition that those we love and cherish are what’s most important and worth celebrating. And that felt like a message to get behind during this special time of year.”
