High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Will Return for a Holiday Special
The Disney+ show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is getting its own holiday special this year.
This Christmas season will be extra spectacular as the iconic High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is scheduled to return for a holiday special to the Disney+ streaming platform on December 11.
The holiday episode has a runtime of forty-five minutes with the show offering up a lyrical soundtrack based around cast members’ memories of the Christmas season along with some much-needed hope for the upcoming New Year. A standalone soundtrack from the festive special’s set is slated for release on November 20.
To stream the High School Musical: The Musical: The Series holiday special in December, you’ll need a Disney+ subscription, which costs $6.99 per month or $69.99 for a full year.
The entire cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will reunite to sing favorite holiday classics, as well as share New Year’s resolutions and offer a sneak peek of season 2. The cast is expected to sing Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s carols.
“The holidays remind us of the universal importance of family and loved ones,” showrunner Tim Federle said in a statement. “The cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is its own kind of family, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to share their favorite holiday music and traditions with our viewers.”
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series has yet to announce a premiere date for season 2, however, it’s themed around a stage production of the romantic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. Pre-production on the second season commenced in February 2020 but was halted due to the global pandemic.
Even though the season 2 premiere date is uncertain, fans of the hit tv-show are still obsessing over getting a holiday special for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.
