Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles Cover Entertainment Weekly for ‘Supernatural’ Digital Issue
Entertainment Weekly is giving Supernatural fans one last goodbye with their December digital issue featuring the lead actors of the beloved series.
Supernatural, which has been a CW hit for the past 15 years, is preparing for its final episode. In order to celebrate, Entertainment Weekly is giving the series its sixth and final issue.
The final #Supernatural adventure has come. Even though @JensenAckles and @jarpad are saying goodbye to saving people and hunting things as the Winchesters, their show’s core message about humanity will carry on. https://t.co/HElfXTXqrg Story by @samhighfill pic.twitter.com/dv2OtoCqkM

On its official website, the magazine took fans through past covers over the years, celebrating the legacy the show is leaving in its wake. In a virtual interview with Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, they spoke about his last day on set.
“There was a moment in my trailer when I took off my boots for the last time,” Ackles said. “Literally, like, hanging up my boots.”
This is in reference to Dean’s “indestructible work boots” that Ackles was required to wear during his many years of filming. In memory of his character, the actor ending up taking the boots home with him once filming wrapped for the final time.
In an interview conducted in October, Jared Padalecki, who plays Sam, told the magazine that the series finale is his all-time favorite of the show.
“The series finale is my favorite episode of all-time,” Padalecki said.
Ackles shares this sentiment. “It’s a fantastic way for the show to wrap up,” Ackles said. “The more that I thought about it, the more that I mulled over all the different possibilities of what could happen, and maybe what should happen, it’s interesting to think that I kept coming back to what ended up happening.”
