Watch the Trailer for ‘Our Friend’ Starring Dakota Johnson, Casey Affleck, and Jason Segel

Universal Pictures just released the first trailer for their new drama/comedy, Our Friend starring Dakota Johnson, Casey Affleck, and Jason Segel.

Our Friend is an adaption of Matthew Teague’s article, “The Friend: Love Is Not a Big Enough Word.” In the story, Teague (Affleck) speaks about his best friend Dane Faucheux (Segel) who comes to his aid when his wife Nicole (Johnson) is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

In an emotional first look at the film, audiences are shown Dane’s fast-paced life that is put on hold when he travels to help take care of his best friend’s two daughters. Their life is turned upside down when Nicole’s health declines, causing Dane’s stay to last even longer than expected.

The film, which originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, is finally making its worldwide debut. Directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite, Our Friend is expected to launch in theaters and on-demand on January 22, 2021.

Screenwriter Brad Ingelsby adapted the script from Teague’s article and is also executive producing the picture alongside Ridley Scott, Ben Stillman, Michael Heimler, and Ted Deiker.

Aside from Johnson, Segel, and Affleck, the film also includes appearances from Gwendoline Christie, Cherry Jones, Marielle Scott, Ahna O’Reilly, Violet McGraw, and Isabella Kai.
