BTS Dominates Billboard Charts and Their Reaction Was Full of Glee
BTS keeps making history as they dominate the Billboard charts once again with the release of their new album BE and single “Life Goes On,” and their reaction exuded pure happiness.
On Sunday, November 30, Billboard released their weekly Billboard 200 Chart, where BTS scored the first spot with their album BE. Big Hit Entertainment released the album on November 20, and according to Billboard and Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the record “[arrive] with 242,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 26.” With this achievement, the album will be the sestet’s second record to reach No. 1 in the same year. BTS’s album Map of the Soul: 7 also scored this spot back in March.

The next day, the BTS Army anxiously waited for Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart anticipating the same results with the single “Life Goes On.” As expected, the K-pop group also tallied at No. 1 on the Hot 100 Chart once again. Unlike their previous No. 1s, “Dynamite” and “Savage Love” with Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685, their new song is mostly in the Korean language. According to The Hot 100 Chart, six more tracks from the album also landed on the chart, which included “Dynamite,” “Telepathy,” “Blue & Grey,” “Stay,” “Fly to My Room,” and “Dis-ease.”

As the BTS Army celebrated the accomplishment, so did the sestet by uploading a reaction video via Twitter. The five-second clip showcased the K-pop group in what seemed to be a dance rehearsal studio. Their excitement was over the roof as vocalist Jimin gleefully jumps around beside his bandmates. The happiness didn’t stop there, for rapper Suga was finally able to join the rest of the group after his shoulder surgery. Members Jin, Jungkook, RM, J-Hope, and V (Kim Taehyung) are ecstatically screaming with joy viewing their reflection upon the studio’s mirror.

Along with the Billboard 200 Chart and Hot 100 Chart, BTS also placed on the Global 200 top 10, Global (excluding the United States), and Artist 100 charts. According to Billboard Charts, this makes BTS “becomes the first group (and ninth act overall), to rule the #Artist100, #Hot100 and #Billboard200 charts simultaneously in the same week.”
