Zendaya Shares the Trailer for HBO’s First ‘Euphoria’ Special Episode
Zendaya just revealed the highly-awaited trailer for HBO’s upcoming Euphoria special episode, which centers around her character Rue.
Over the past week, the platform has teased fans with content from the special. On November 25, Zendaya tweeted an official poster featuring her character with the tagline, “THIS IS NOT SEASON 2.”

In the recently released teaser trailer, fans are shown a grim look at the newest addition in the series. It picks up directly after the events in season one, in which Rue has a tense ending with Jules (Hunter Schafer).
Audiences see Rue in a diner, replaying the events of the finale, before being joined by Ali (Colman Domingo), whom she met at her Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Ali joins a deflated Rue in her booth with a simple question: “Why’d you call me?”

Since season two of the series has been delayed due to the ongoing pandemic, Rue: Part I will help fill the gap until fans can see the next season. Both special episodes were produced under COVID-19 guidelines.
The episode, “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” will deal with the aftermath of Rue being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing. It will also follow Rue as she celebrates Christmas.
This year, Zendaya made history when she became the youngest actress to win the Emmy for best lead actress in a drama series for her performance in the HBO original.

The second special episode does not currently have a release date, but Rue: Part I will premiere exclusively on HBO this Sunday, December 6 at 9/8c.
