Taylor Swift to Release Surprise Ninth Album ‘evermore’ at Midnight

RCA Records

Taylor Swift has just announced her second surprise album of the year, this time titled, evermore.

The singer revealed the new album in a variety of tweets, calling it the “sister record” to her Grammy-nominated album folklore.

Swift explained to fans that she and her writing partners Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, and William Bowery (recently revealed to be her longtime partner Joe Alwyn) couldn’t stop writing songs even after the magic of folklore.

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” Swift wrote. “To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.”

The standard edition of evermore is made up of 15 new tracks, with the deluxe physical edition including two bonus songs. The singer revealed this album is a birthday present to fans, as she turns 31 on December 13.

Evermore is Swift’s ninth studio album and features another collaboration with Bon Iver and new features with The National and HAIM. The singer also revealed that the music video for “willow” will drop at midnight.

In the wake of her surprise announcement, fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to the exciting news.

Evermore will be available to stream on Apple Music and Spotify at midnight ET. We can’t wait to listen to the album on repeat all weekend.
