All The New Marvel Content Released From Disney Investor’s Day

Disney Investor’s Day did not disappoint and Marvel Studios went out of its way to show fans that their patience for new content was well worth it.
The Marvel lineup included first looks and trailers for its new TV shows, release dates, and casting plans for the upcoming films over the next two years and beyond.
Kicking off the TV show trailers, fans got a much more in-depth look at WandaVision, which set-up the background and the environment of the upcoming show as it moves through the decades.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier finally dropped its first official trailer that showed lots of action and buddy humor between Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.

Tom Hiddleston will be returning as Loki Laufeyson, Thor’s adopted brother, in his own TV show that picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Fans got their first look at the show which also included a glance at Owen Wilson.

Marvel Studios also released a new trailer for their animated series What If…? which will include voices of major stars who acted in the live-action films. The premise of the show reimagines familiar characters taking on a completely different story.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings finished production and is now slated to be released on July 9, 2021. They also revealed the leading cast starting with the lead Simu Liu, Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Michelle Yeoh, Ronny Chieng, Fala Chen, and Florian Munteanu.

Despite the release date being moved multiple times due to complications in 2020, Marvel is still holding strong to its May 7, 2021 release date for Black Widow.
In the same year, Eternals will drop on November 5 as a superhero epic that has never been done before. The outstanding cast is sure to give fans a new story to remember.

After this year’s discovery of Iman Vellani to play Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel has begun filming. Fans got both a first look at the character as well as hearing the creators talk about this new expansion of the Marvel world.

Captain Marvel 2 received many updates including a release date of November 11, 2022 with the new director Nia Costa. Marvel also released new casting details which directly tie into the plot of the film as Ms. Marvel and an aged Monica Rambeau.

The newly announced tv series She Hulk also reminded fans of the casting of main character Jennifer Walters as Tatiana Maslany. They will bring back an old villain, the Abomination, and Mark Ruffalo will make an appearance as Hulk.

Despite an announcement for the new TV series Moon Knight, they did not officially confirm the news that Oscar Isaac would play the lead, as originally stated earlier this year.

Another new show was released with Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury in Secret Invasion which will include the Skrull storyline from Captain Marvel.

The event was also a win for representation as Dominique Thomas will play Riri Williams in Ironheart. Her comics were created recently which center around her recreating technology from Tony Stark’s designs.

The new film Blade was mentioned with the lead role played by Mahershala Ali with few other details provided.

The Guardian’s of the Galaxy crew will also be returning in a series of short films, a third film, and for the first time ever, a holiday special.

A new casting announcement for Thor: Love and Thunder caused quite a stir. Christian Bale will be playing the villain Gorr the God Butcher. The film is set for release on May 6, 2022.

Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Doctor Strange in Doctor Strange: The Multiverse of Madness with returning cast Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Scarlet Witch as a new addition to the story.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was announced for the first time which will bring back all of the original cast, Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lily, Michael Douglas, and Michelle Pfeiffer. Kathryn Newton will take over the role of Cassie Lang and a new villain Kang the Conquerer will be played by Jonathan Majors.

Afte one rough start in 2015, Marvel is trying one more time to create a new Fantastic Four film. The only news fans received on this film was the chosen director Jon Watts.

Black Panther 2 received an official release date for July 8, 2020 written and directed by Ryan Coogler. The biggest news that was confirmed about this film was that Chadwick Boseman would not be recast, therefore the narrative will take a new direction.

To bring an end to the endless Marvel news, Hawkeye rounded out the night with casting updates to officially confirm Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld as lead roles. While there has been no official release date, we can expect one soon, as production has began.

While this was only one section of Disney’s overall unveiling on Investor’s Day, it surely revived the passion fans have for the new Marvel shows after a full year of no film releases.
