Miley Cyrus Presents Dolly Parton With the Hitmaker Award at the Virtual Billboard Women in Music
Miley Cyrus presents Dolly Parton with the very first Hitmaker Award on Thursday night.
At this year’s Billboard Women in Music event, Miley Cyrus announces the very first winner of the Hitmaker Award to her “aunt,” Dolly Parton. Cyrus gave a beautiful and heartfelt speech on Thursday night in honor of her “very precious fairy godmother, not only to me but admirers from all around the world.”
Cyrus continued her speech by saying how Parton is like no one else she has ever met.
“I’ve never met anyone that doesn’t like Dolly Parton,” Cyrus said. “And it’s safe to say if they don’t like her, it’s only because they love her. As the most honored and revered female country singer-songwriter of all time, Dolly Parton has influenced music beyond her own genre. Achieving 25 gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards, Dolly has had 26 songs reach No. 1 on the Billboard country charts — a record for any female artist.”
