Beyoncé’s Daughter Blue Ivy Carter Has Been Nominated for Her First Grammy at Eight Years Old
Singer, actress, and businesswoman Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, has been nominated for her first Grammy Award at just eight years old.
As the child of rap icon Jay-Z and the Queen Bee herself, Blue Ivy is certainly racking up achievements early like her highly successful parents. Although her name was initially absent from the list of 2021 Grammy Award nominees, today Blue Ivy was recognized by the organization for her contribution to her mother’s song “Brown Skin Girl” in her latest film Black is King on Disney+.
Although Beyoncé included cameos of her twins, Rumi and Sir, and her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson, and her husband, Jay Z, Blue Ivy was the only family member to have her own solo musical moment.
Blue Ivy is one of the youngest Grammy nominees in history, alongside Leah Peasall of the Peasall Sisters, LeAnn Rimes, Stephen Marley (son of Bob Marley), Marie Osmond, and more. The song “Brown Skin Girl” has secured Beyoncé multiple nominations, as it is about beauty and female empowerment for women of all racial backgrounds. The song specifically highlights black beauty.
