Jesy Nelson Leaves Little Mix After Nine Years Together

When Little Mix first came together in 2011, it consisted of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall, and Perrie Edwards. After nine amazing years together, Nelson has decided to go her separate way to put her mental health first.

Nelson released a candid statement, which explained to all the Mixers her decision. Though this may come as a shock to many, it’s important to applaud Nelson to be so self-aware and acknowledge and prioritize her mental health. For nine years, Nelson has given her everything to make fans happy, but now she needs to make herself happy.

Though this is disheartening to many Mixers, Pinnock, Thirlwall, and Edwards plan to keep Little Mix alive by performing and touring even after Nelson’s departure. Just like fans are losing a member, the remaining members are losing their bandmate. However, even though this is tough on them, they all wish the best of luck to Nelson on her journey.

“I’m ready to embark on a new chapter in my life — I’m not sure what it’s going to look like right now, but I hope you’ll be there to support me,” Nelson said. She sources the pressure from being in a girl group as being what is taking a toll on her mental health.

She ends the statement by saying a big thank you to her fans and bandmates for giving her so many unforgettable memories that compile her experience with Little Mix. We wish Nelson the best of luck with her journey.
