Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura and Others Join the Cast of Netflix’s ‘The Gray Man’
Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Dhanush, and Julia Butters join the star-studded cast of the upcoming thriller film The Gray Man on Netflix.
Based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Mark Greaney, Henwick, Moura, Dhanush, and Butters join Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana De Armas in the new espionage thriller. The upcoming Netflix film will have the largest budget ever to date and will be produced by Joe and Anthony Russo’s independent production company AGBO. Anthony Russo will also direct the upcoming James Bond-inspired project about two killers hunting each other. Netflix announced the addition of the new cast members today on social media.

The film will feature a screenplay written by Joe Russo, Christopher Markus, and Stephen McFeely. The additional cast members come from various backgrounds in the film and tv industries; Henwick is known for her work in the TV show Game of Thrones, Moura is known for his work in the Netflix series Narcos, Bollywood star Dhanush is known for his work in Raanjhanaa, and Butters is known for her work in the movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Netflix initially announced that Gosling, Evans, and De Armas had joined the project less than a week ago.
According to Deadline, when talking about the upcoming film, Joe Russo said, “The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical, and the ability to do with Gosling and Evans is a dream for us. The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the center of it. We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie. These are master assassins, and Gosling’s characters get burned by the CIA, and Evans’ character has to hunt him down. We have a great working relationship with Netflix, and we go back almost 20 years with Scott Stuber. We formed AGBO to be an agnostic storytelling company, where we figure out the best platform. We think Netflix is the perfect place for this film.”
