Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Other Leaders Demand the Use of the 25th Amendment
Both leaders of the House and Senate Democrats are calling upon Vice-President Mike Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment so he can take the presidential powers away from Donald Trump.
Due to the chaos and destruction caused by domestic terrorists at the U.S. Capitol instigated by President Trump, political leaders have been trying to determine the next course of action. During the siege, Congresswoman Ilan Omar began crafting articles of impeachment despite the mere two-week time gap before Joe Biden becomes president.
I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment.

Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate.
We can’t allow him to remain in office, it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath.
In response to these events, other political leaders have condemned the violent rioting but are also calling for more severe legal action against President Trump. Both Chuck Schumer, Democratic Senate leader, and Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, have appealed to Vice-President Pence to use the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from power so he cannot cause any more trouble until Biden is elected. They have also asked Congress to Impeach the president again if Pence does not go through with the process.
This morning, @SenSchumer and I placed a call to Vice President Pence to urge him to invoke the 25th Amendment which would allow the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to remove the President. We have not yet heard back from the Vice President.

While Vice President Pence has indirectly stated he will not remove the current president from power, it is still a possibility that Congress could impeach Trump before the inauguration. Multiple cabinet members have quit their positions in the wake of the chaos and Trump filmed a broadcast declaring a peaceful transition of power also stating he will not run again.
Don’t call these cabinet resignations anything but a Profile in Cowardice.

They’re resigning to avoid invoking the 25th amendment.
Congress & the people see right through it.
We must impeach & remove.
Despite all the political tension that is still stewing in Washington, there are only fourteen more days left until the Trump family leaves the White House and hopefully, Congress can do what needs to be done to maintain the proper transition of power.
