‘Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar’ Brought to You by ‘Bridesmaids’ Co-Writers
Kristin Wiig and Annie Mumolo, the duo behind Bridesmaids, are releasing their new comedy, Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar, debuting February 12 for at-home viewing.
Directed by award-winning Josh Greenbaum, Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar centers around two lifelong friends Barb (Mumulo) and Star (Wiig) who decide to go on vacation to Vista Del Mar, Florida, leaving their small-town for the first-time. The film promises friendship, romance, and a villain with an evil plot.
In addition to playing the two leads, Wiig and Mumolo also co-wrote the film. The two previously co-wrote the 2011 film Bridesmaids, which won them an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar reunites Wiig and Mumolo with Bridesmaids actress Wendi McLendon-Covey. The film also co-stars Jamie Dornan, Damon Wayans Jr., Vanessa Bayer, and Phyllis Smith.
The film was originally set for a July 31, 2020 release, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatrical release date was pushed back to July 16. However, on January 11, Lionsgate forwent a theatrical release for the film and announced an at-home release date of February 12.
I think this might be the movie we need right now. Count me in!
