Lashana Lynch Breaking Barriers as Miss Honey in Upcoming Netflix Musical ‘Matilda’
Netflix has recently announced that the role of Miss Honey in their upcoming musical movie, Matilda has been secured by Lashana Lynch.
Lynch is best known for her work as fighter pilot Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel and the role of Rosaline Capulet in the ABC period drama series Still Star-Crossed. She has had no prior musical experience, but we are to expect great things from her previous acting experience.
Matilda is a familiar story to many, as ’90s and 2000’s babies grew up watching the original 1996 film on repeat. The iconic story of a little girl growing up and becoming independent all while having the mind-blowing ability of telekinesis is still loved by many.
Matilda was originally a 232-page book written by Roald Dahl in 1988 then was later adapted into the 1996 film directed by and starring Danny Devito. Matilda has since been a musical that first hit the stages back in 2010.
