Tennis champion Naomi Osaka has just been announced as the new brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton after signing a seven-figure deal.

As the highest-paid female athlete of all time, there’s no doubt that Osaka is one of the biggest names in sports right now. She had an amazing year in 2020 after winning the U.S. Open and being named one of Sports Illustrated‘s Sportspeople of the year and TIME’s Top 100 Most Influential People.

Perhaps what Osaka has been known for most lately is her activism following the many recent incidents of police brutality. She stepped up and used her voice and platform to speak up and fight for racial injustice and the countless people killed at the hands of the police.

One way Osaka has expressed herself is through fashion. During the US Open, she wore a mask with the name of a different Black person killed by police at each match, and she sat out of the Western and Southern Open to protest racial injustice.

With all of her recent success, there’s no questioning why Osaka would land a major Louis Vuitton deal. She has expressed having a love for fashion and she even once collaborated with the Japanese brand ADEAM for her ADEAM x Naomi Osaka collection for New York Fashion Week.

The tennis superstar has proven to be a great role model for young girls around the world who watch and look up to her, and fans are thrilled to hear that she’s been chosen by a brand as loved and respected as Louis Vuitton. Be sure to look out for Osaka as the face of Louis Vuitton’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2021 fashion campaign.
