Saweetie x Doja Cat’s ‘Best Friend’ Collab Is Everything We Needed and More
This past week, multi-platinum artist, Saweetie, and Grammy-nominated rapper, Doja Cat, released their new collaboration “Best Friend” as an ode to female friendships everywhere.
After dropping this single on January 7, within 2 days, the music video alone reached over 10 million views while the song has now been streamed over 5 million times on Spotify. These ladies are no stranger to popular collaborations, rapping with stars like Nicki Minaj, Jhené Aiko, and Post Malone on a variety of hit tracks in the past.

Saweetie went to Instagram on Saturday to share with fans her excitement on the music video’s success with some behind-the-scenes shots of the making of “Best Friend.” She captions the photo, “Still #1 trending on Youtube cheerz to my besties”, while rocking a gold bedazzled bikini, with her iconic “ICY” slang across the top.
Fans on Twitter have reacted to the collaboration with excitement all week. With lyrics like, “If she ride for me, she don’t need a key,” people are doting this their friendship song of 2021.
