Katy Perry Closes Biden Inauguration Special with ‘Firework’

Katy Perry, one of the biggest names in pop music, closed the Joe Biden Inaugural Special with an explosive rendition of her 2010 chart-topping hit, “Firework.”

Perry, a long-time supporter of Biden, showed her patriotism for this historic event by wearing an all-white gown coupled with a bold red lip. Perry’s stellar performance truly captured the magic Americans feel on the Fourth of July as bright-colored fireworks lit up D.C.

Prior to Perry’s strong performance, she took to Twitter on January 19 to tease fans with a preview for what she had been working on. The image shows four patriotic-themed microphones: The Statue of Liberty, the American flag, and the colors red, white, and blue, all indicating a strong sense of patriotism.

What a perfect ending to a perfect night by @katyperry! Another huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard on this inauguration week and celebration tonight 🇺🇸@BidenInaugural @JCCIC
