JYP Entertainment’s South Korean boyband GOT7, which gained popularity for their Korean and Japanese pop music after their official debut in 2014, has decided to go separate ways. The group consists of seven members: Mark, JB, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom.

Member Park Jin-young, who uses the stage name Jinyoung, is known for his acting, singing, and songwriting. On January 27, BH entertainment officially announced that Jinyoung will join their roster of artists, just weeks after GOT7 announced the end of their journey as a band.

GOT7’s contract with JYP Entertainment officially ended on January 19, according to a press release from the entertainment company. The press release states: “Both the company and the members have agreed not to renew a contract,” and “JYP Entertainment will sincerely support the new future each member of GOT7 will move on to.”

An official press release from BH Entertainment, which is best known as an acting agency, shares that Jinyoung will be continuing on with both singing and acting: “Through BH Entertainment’s system, we will provide both material and emotional support for Jingyoung’s diverse career as an actor and musician.” Fans of GOT7 and Jinyoung continue to show their support and excitement for Jinyoung’s future with both singing and acting.

Throughout his career, Jinyoung has starred in a number of South Korean shows since his first debut as an actor in 2012, and his vocals and songwriting abilities as a member of GOT7 are loved and appreciated by fans.
