South Korean pop girl group BLACKPINK successfully held their very first online live-stream concert on January 31.

With the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the live music industry, leading to tour cancellations and postponement, online concerts have become a common way for artists to connect with fans through live performances.  BLACKPINK held their first live-stream concert this weekend through their official YouTube, calling it “THE SHOW.”

The girl group, which consists of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, performed numerous songs from their first studio album “THE ALBUM.” The show opened with their 2019 track “Kill This Love,” and continued on to play several of their popular songs including “How You Like That,” as well as “As If It’s Your Last.” They even performed “Sour Candy,” their collaboration with Lady Gaga.

The show was broadcast live from Seoul, South Korea, and had BLACKPINK fans eager to see what they had in store for their future live tour. The performance included full costumes and dance routines, as well as fog, LED lights, neon lasers, and confetti, mimicking what a real live arena show would look like.

One portion of the show that had BLACKPINK fans talking was when member Rosé shared her solo debut track for the first time,”Gone.” This performance marked the first time fans had heard Rosé’s new single and they were more excited than ever.
