Marilyn Manson Accused of Sexual Abuse by Evan Rachel Wood and Four Others
Evan Rachel Wood has accused her ex-fiance, Marilyn Manson, of sexual abuse, and she is not the only one that has come forward with the same accusations. WARNING: This article mentions sensitive topics including sexual assault.
On February 1, Evan Rachel Wood publically named her abuser in a statement on Instagram. She stated her abuser’s name is Brian Warner, known to the world as Marilyn Mason.
The two of a dating history going back to 2007. They met in 2006 and went public with their romantic relationship a year later in 2007. Wood was only 19 at the time, and Manson was 36. Right away, their relationship gained a lot of publicity. In 2010, they got engaged, but the engagement only lasted eight months until they called it off and went their separate ways. In 2016, Evan Rachel Wood began opening up to the public and telling her story about being sexually abused. She testified before a House Judiciary Subcommittee in support of passing the Sexual Assualt Survivors Bill of Rights passed in America. She also testified before California legislators in support of the Phoneix Act. Though Wood never identified her abuser, now she is shining a light on Manson and the damage he has caused.
Marilyn Manson has publically denied the accusations via Instagram. Though, his former fiance is not the only one who is making accusations. Many other victims have come forward shining a light on Manson, claiming him as their abuser.
The other victims that have come forward are Ashley Walters, Sarah McNeilly, Ashley Lindsay Morgan, and Gabriella. Wood has flooded her Instagram story with others that have also come forward and made statements. All of their accusations are similar in one way or another. They accuse Manson of grooming them, isolating them from friends and family, and placing threats on them. All of which are common signs of an abusive person or relationship.
Marilyn Manson is a famous gothic rock singer. He started his career in the early 1990s. After the victims came forward, his record label dropped him but has made no further comment. Social media sites are flooding with the support of those who have come forward and broken the silence.
I stand with Evan Rachel Wood and other brave women who have come forward. It takes years to recover from abuse and I send them strength on their journey to recovery. Let the truth be revealed. Let the healing begin.

We do not know what the future of this case holds. California State Senator Susan Rubio has released a statement concerning the accusations, stating that they must be taken seriously in the court of law. We applaud the women who have come forward. We must work together to support each other in cases like this. Though the silence seems safer and more comfortable, these women are setting examples of hope for victims around the world by breaking that silence. If you or someone you know is a victim of abuse, you can visit the National Domestic Abuse website for support. You are not alone. Together we can break the silence and begin to see ourselves as survivors instead of victims.
