Charli XCX Documentary ‘Alone Together’ Headed to SXSW

Atlantic Records

Charli XCX has announced her documentary, Alone Together, will be shown at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March.

Charlotte Emma Aitchison, known by her stage name Charli XCX, took to social media to reveal she has a documentary coming out in March. Alone Together is directed by Bradley and Pablo, the iconic British directing duo who famously directed Harry Styles in his hit-song, “Watermelon Sugar.”

The English singer-songwriter’s documentary will focus on the creation of her latest LP, How I’m Feeling Now, which was made entirely in quarantine. The documentary will explore Charli’s creative vision for this LP, which had been largely influenced by the current pandemic.

Charli took to Instagram to express her reason for making this documentary. She reveals, “The documentary tells the story of not only the 5 week process surrounding the making of my album, how i’m feeling now, but also all the emotions that creating, connecting, and living in a quarantine and in basically a new world evokes for people across the globe.”

Fans of the 28-year-old singer have given an outpour of support for this project. Charli’s music has helped fans feel a little bit closer to her as the pandemic has prevented musicians from touring — the highest form of intimacy for the artist and fans alike.

Charli’s documentary, Alone Together, will be screened alongside three other documentaries: singer Demi Lovato, actress Selma Blair, and the late Tom Petty have been added to the virtual SXSW Film Festival. To learn more about the festival you can check out their website here.
