Emma Corrin and Harry Styles Will Star in Amazon’s New Romance Drama ‘My Policeman’

The Crown’s Emma Corrin will be starring alongside singer Harry Styles in Amazon’s My Policeman.

Corrin has received Golden Globe, SAG, and Critics Choice nominations for her role as Lady Diana Spencer in Season 4 of The Crown. The actress has been named one of The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen Breakout Stars. Her debut film appearance was in a historical drama film called Misbehavior set during the Women’s Liberation movement in 1970’s London. Corrin’s character played the Miss South Africa contestant in the beauty pageant named Jillian Jessup. Corrin has also portrayed Esme in the Warner Brothers/EPIX TV series Pennyworth.

Styles first appeared as Alex in the 2017 war film Dunkirk. He is the lead role as Jack opposite Florence Pugh in an upcoming psychological thriller called Don’t Worry Darling which is directed by Olivia Wilde.

My Policeman is based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Bethan Roberts.

The film is set in the late 1990s and revolves around a married couple, Marian and Tom played by Corrin and Styles. An old friend of Tom’s, an elderly invalid named Patrick moves into their home which reopens memories of events from 40 years before of the romantic relationship between Tom and Patrick. Their relationship occurred during a time when homosexuality was illegal. This lasting connection threatens to disrupt the relationship between Tom and his two lovers.

According to Deadline, the book has been adapted to a screenplay by Academy Award and Emmy nominee Ron Nyswaner. My Policeman will be directed by Michael Grandage.

Collider has reported that the film should start production this spring or summer in England. The release of My Policeman will be available on Amazon Prime Video.
