The British actress and model will be portraying Anne Boleyn in a three-part psychological thriller, Anne Boleyn, from Channel 5, Fable Pictures, and Sony Pictures Television.

On February 11, Jodie Turner-Smith took to Instagram to share an image from her latest project. The Queen and Slim actress will be portraying Anne Boleyn, one of Henry VIII’s wives. Turner-Smith is seen wearing a headpiece, veil, and a black dress, along with a gold pendant attached to a pearl necklace. Turner-Smith is seen gazing into the camera with sad eyes, desperately trying to tell viewers a tale of despair.

Turner-Smith took to Instagram with the caption, “Le Temps Viendra, Je Anne Boleyn” which translates to “The Time Will Come, I Anne Boleyn.” This appears in Boleyn’s Book of Hours. Turner-Smith is paying homage to the late Boleyn with her Instagram post.

The show will follow the Tudor dynasty in a fascinating new way. Unlike many period pieces, the story will focus more on being a psychological thriller to expose the history of the monarchy, instead of the typical drama-centric story many other period pieces take on. With writer Eve Hedderwick Turner, the show will give a more feminist viewpoint to the era.

Celebrities and fans of Turner-Smith have grown obsessed with the time period looks she is serving. A second photo has appeared, showing her in an emerald green dress and matching headpiece, along with the same gold pendant and pearl necklace that had been in the first still. The second photo features Turner-Smith on a throne with lit candles at each side. She is seen staring at the camera very seriously, immediately commanding attention.

Though there is no definitive premiere date for this three-part psychological thriller, these images have provided fans with all they need to know: Jodie Turner-Smith will deliver a strong performance as Anne Boleyn.
