While Britney is still under a full conservatorship with her father, the decisions made by the court today were a step in the right direction. According to USA Today, “The judge agreed to Britney Spears’ wish to have someone with equal power to her father in control of her case. But Jamie Spears, 68, remains a co-conservator despite his daughter’s objections to him. The judge appointed Bessemer to the conservatorship in November while rejecting Britney’s effort to remove her father entirely. Still, Jamie Spears objected to the proposed management arrangement with Bessemer, arguing that it reduced the power he’s held for years in the case.”

Bessemer Trust is a private, independent multi-family office that oversees more than $140 billion for over 2,500 families, foundations, and endowments.

According to The New York Times, “Britney Spears hasn’t been able to fully live her own life for 13 years, stuck in a court-sanctioned conservatorship. Framing Britney Spears, a documentary by The New York Times, examines what the public might not know about the pop star’s court battle for control of her estate.”

A flood of support has been rolling in for Britney throughout the years. Her career took off at age 11 when she starred in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, then again when her hit tune, “Hit Me Baby One More Time,” rocked the charts and her career in 1998. She continued to serve us hit after hit, winning herself a Grammy, Teen Choice Award, Billboard Music Award, MTV Video Music Video Award, and many more.

Britney certainly is a talented superstar who deserves to live her life the way she chooses and not be controlled by her father or anyone else.
