Actress Michelle Trachtenberg has become the latest celebrity to denounce Joss Whedon.

Michelle Trachtenberg reposted an Instagram story created by Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star, Sarah Michelle Gellar, to announce the inappropriate behavior made by Joss Whedon. The now 35-year-old bravely spoke out against Whedon for his contributions to a toxic workplace environment.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a top-rated television series that ran for seven seasons, from years 1997-2003. Actress Charisma Carpenter had been the first to publicly denounce his behavior, followed by Sarah-Michelle, Eliza Dushku, and now Trachtenberg.

Trachtenberg had assumed the role of Dawn Summers, Buffy’s younger sister when she was just fifteen. As a young teenager, Trachtenberg had revealed a heartbreaking fact: there had been a rule that Whedon was not allowed to be in a room alone with her. Fans of Trachtenberg’s character have weighed in on this horrific rule she had to invent in order to feel safe working.

One user observed, “That means that he did something so bad at least 1x that higher-ups knew they’d be liable. They knew.” This chilling detail speaks to how disturbing this fact truly is for those to digest.

Despite these tragic allegations, Trachtenberg leaves Instagram with a hopeful and powerful message, “But we win. By surviving!”
