The COVID-19 pandemic has halted concerts worldwide, but some artists are doing whatever it takes to give their fans a live performance, and that’s exactly what Justin Bieber did this past Valentine’s Day.

On February 14, Justin Bieber partnered with TikTok to present a full-length live performance, “Journals live from the drew house.” Bieber was the first-ever single artist to stream a full-length live performance on TikTok, and with no surprise, it was a massive success. The concert drew in over four million viewers over two broadcasts.

The performance consisted of songs from his hit album Journals. Journals was released in December of 2014 and has a total of 16 tracks. The anticipation around his performance caused fans to push the album past the three million streams mark. Journals never reached a ranking position on the Billboard 200, but three songs from the track broke into the top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album has also been certified as a gold album by the RIAA.

Bieber uses TikTok, like any other social media account, as a platform to interact with his fans. With over 20 million followers, he uses his page to post him and his wife, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, participating in the latest dancing trends and teasers to new music. He first announced #JournalsLive on February 10, four days before the Valentine’s Day concert. It live-streamed Sunday, February 10 at 9 PM eastern time and re-aired Monday, February 11 at 2 PM eastern time.

Justin Bieber continues to be one of the most prominent musical artists in the world. Bieber was discovered at the age of only 13 on YouTube, where he posted cover song videos. He quickly signed into a deal with RBMG records and released his debut EP My world in 2009. He began to make headlines automatically. Bieber was the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album on the Billboard Hot 100. With over 60 million subscribers, Bieber is the No.1 artist on YouTube and the No.2 artist on Spotify global with 64 million monthly listeners. Bieber currently has four tracks on the Billboard Hot 100, three of them landing in the top 40. To top his current success off, he is up for three Grammy nominations and an American Music Award for his 2020 album Changes.

To stay up to date with Justin Bieber, you can follow him on Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok. All of his music videos can be found on his Youtube channel and a surplus of other videos. You can stream any of his music on Apple Music, Spotify, or wherever you listen to music.
