Starship Entertainment

On February 19, Monsta X member I.M. made his official solo debut with the release of his digital mini-album, Duality.

I.M. is back with another solo project, just two years after the release of his solo mixtape, HORIZON. The highly anticipated album contains five tracks, including the focus track “God Damn,” which is accompanied by a steamy music video.

Revealed in the press release, the music video for track one “God Damn” “expresses a sense of freedom without knowing exactly where it comes from, and finding one’s hope out from the wander.” It continues on to share details about the album, “the album’s message raises questions about his own existence, which is quite different from the usual music of Monsta X.”

The five-track metaphorical album illustrates I.M’s inner thoughts and mind, stepping away from the usual music of Monsta X and expanding into a new, fresh sound with mellow energy and sentimental lyrics. The South Korean singer wrote the lyrics to each of the tracks, in addition to composing and arranging on the album.

Fans of I.M and Monsta X have taken over Twitter to share their thoughts and excitement on the album release, causing hashtags like #IM_DUALITY_OUT_NOW and #GOD_DAMN_MV to trend worldwide. Over 30k tweets were produced under the hashtags, coming from fans congratulating I.M and sharing their favorite songs off the album.
