Nick Jonas to Host and Perform as Musical Guest on NBC’s ‘Saturday Night Live’

Steven Taylor

On February 27, Nick Jonas will make a two-role appearance on Saturday Night Live as both the musical guest and making his debut as host.

Nick Jonas is known for being part of the Jonas Brothers band. Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas formed the band together in 2005, and in 2019, the three boys shocked the world when they reunited the band after going their separate ways. The band has been extremely successful since coming back together.

Nick recently announced the release of his new single “Spaceman.” “Spaceman” is set to release on Friday, February 25, just two days before he will perform on SNL. “Spaceman” will be Nick’s first solo music since the Jonas Brothers reunited. During the three brothers’ time apart, Nick released two solo albums. Nick Jonas X2 in 2015 and Last Year Was Complicated the following year in 2016. Jonas also spent time on The Voice as a judge in season 18, which occurred in 2016. Though, he is set to make a return to the show for the upcoming season. Jonas will join coaches Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson in season 20, which will premiere on March 1.

While this will be Nick Jonas’s first time hosting SNL, it is not his first time performing as a musical guest. He has made three previous appearances on the show, twice with his brothers and once by himself. Jonas and his two brothers performed on the show in 2009 and 2019. Nick also performed on the show as a solo artist in 2016.

The Saturday Night Live episode will air on February 27 on NBC. “Spaceman” will be available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, or wherever you listen to music starting February 25.
