After 20th Century Fox’s 2018 hit film Love, Simon, Hulu was inspired to create Love, Victor. It’s set in the same world and also focuses on a gay teenager trying to navigate who he is as he learns to accept his sexual orientation. On the show, Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino) looks up to Simon Spier (Nick Robinson) and seeks his help when overcoming obstacles with his family and friends. The movie that the show is based on originates from “Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda,” written by Becky Albertalli.

The series aims to shed light on the current attitude towards sexuality and the LGBTQIA+ community while developing strong relationships and storylines for its diverse characters. Fans have come to love the show, eagerly awaiting the arrival of its second season.

Season two will pick up at Salazar’s junior year at Creekwood High. Last season, fans were left on a cliffhanger with new information surfacing to Victor’s family and left audiences wondering what the consequences of the knowledge would bring. Season one dealt with many storylines in which the high school dramatics came in full swing. From the relationship between Victor and Benji Campbell (George Sear), Victor’s girlfriend, Mia Brooks (Rachel Hilson) navigating high school and personal revelations with him, and the overall drama that comes with dealing with being a gay basketball player, the expectations have been set high for the new season to pick up where the first season left off.

The show was originally produced by Disney+, but Hulu took over so they could explore more mature themes with a different audience. Since this season will fully be produced by Hulu, they will be able to dive deeper into different storylines revolving the social dilemma and teenage adolescence.

Season two will be available to stream exclusively on Hulu beginning Friday, June 11.
