‘Schitt’s Creek’ and Star Catherine O’Hara Bring in the Awards at the Golden Globes
Pop’s Schitt’s Creek received new awards to add to its collection of many at this year’s Golden Globes.
The comedy series, Schitt’s Creek, co-created by the talented father-son duo, Eugene and Dan Levy, was awarded for “Best Comedy.” Catherine O’Hara took home “Best Actress” for her role as Moira Rose at the 2021 Golden Globes Awards, which aired live on Sunday, February 28.
The six-season series, that first aired in 2015, follows the wealthy Rose family, Johnny (Eugene Levy), Moira (O’Hara), and their two children, David (Dan Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy), who suddenly find themselves going broke after being defrauded by their business manager.

The only remaining asset for the family is a small town called Schitt’s Creek, which Johhny bought years back as a joke birthday gift for his son. This adjustment is no easy task, but they work through it all as a family.
The award for “Best Comedy” was accepted by Dan Levy on behalf of the series. The actor thanked everyone involved in Schitt’s Creek by saying, “The incredible work you all did over these past six seasons has taken us to places we never thought possible, and we are so grateful to all of you for it.”
O’Hara took home her first-ever Golden Globes for “Best Actress in a TV series” and she thanked the show’s creators and her co-stars while accepting. She expressed, “They created an inspiring, funny, beautiful family love story in which they let me wear a hundred wigs and speak like an alien.”
While Schitt’s Creek might be over, its legacy and beautiful messages are something that will stick with fans for the rest of time. Huge congrats to all involved for these very deserved wins.
