The beloved Law and Order: SVU character Elliot Stabler will return to the screen almost a decade after his departure. NBC recently announced that Detective Elliot Stabler, who is played by the talented Christopher Meloni, will be the star character in a new Dick Wolf series titled Law and Order: Organized Crime. Fans will not want to miss this historic NBC crossover that will reunite the most iconic detective duo in TV history.

Meloni played the Detective on SVU for 12 years before leaving the show. Detective Olivia Benson, played by the astounding Mariska Hargitay, was Stabler’s partner throughout his time on the series. It only takes streaming a few episodes of SVU before quickly becoming invested in the relationship between Detective Benson and Stabler. Law and Order: Organized Crime will premiere in a two-hour crossover event with Law and Order: Special Victim Unit, which will reunite the former partners. Fans have been flooding social media with their excitement to see this duo back in action again.

Law and Order: SVU has been one of the most successful shows in NBC’s franchise. It has just been renewed for season 24, making it the longest-running live-action show in history. Hargitay has been acting on the show since it premiered in 1999. In an interview with People Magazine, Meloni and Hargitay discussed their excitement to work together again. The two have an unbreakable bond not just on the screen but off the screen as well. They continued to be friends after Meloni left the SVU and have loved teasing fans over the years by posting photos on social media of them hanging out.

Law and Order: Organized Crime is set to premiere on April 1 at 9/10 central time on NBC.
